Third Price increase this year hits the packaging industry.

The paper and corrugated case industry, in common with much of the UK industry has faced major cost increases over the last 12 to 18 months. You may be aware that increases have been particularly heavy in the area of energy and distribution.
Sadly there have now been paper price increases announced again on both kraft and domestic materials together with an increase on starch. These are reflecting the very large cost increases the mills themselves have incurred on energy. One other driver is the current high world demand for paper driven by the Far East’s fast growing economies and the closure of several UK and European paper mills.
